Reuben takes 8th overall at his first race event of 2025!

So this weekend the 15th/16th March

we headed to sherwood for the first race of the year. I was so excited I had not been to sherwood in 2 years and was really looking forward to getting back into the action.

I went out for practice and the track was great I did take my time to get a good look at the track. I was feeling really good.
I could not wait for my first race this year.

Race 1. I got a really good start and was chasing a good group the race was BW and SW combined and as each rider started to spread out around the track I found myself battling with a BW. It was great and I felt good and I just wanted to keep pushing getting faster each lap I managed to get 9th in my first race.

Race 2.
This time I just had to beat my last race always wanting to improve I pushed hard from the start it was hard, a few ruts started to form but this gave me a little more confidence in some of the corners. I felt quicker taking a few seconds off my lap time. I kept pushing best I could and Finished 8th

Race 3.
The race started, well it did for the left hand side of the gates! All the gates to the right failed to drop this causing a restart. The race restarted without the gates and unfortunately I had my worst start of the weekend so far I lost concentration and did not set off quick enough and ended up chasing everyone being at the back I felt confident in myself and this only made me want to push on and try to get passed as many riders as possible and each lap I felt better and quicker. I managed to finish 7th which was my best result of the day and I finished 7th overall for Saturday in my class.

Round 2.

We arrived at Sherwood for round 2 I felt confident today and I had a target to try and gain some seconds on my lap times and try to improve my race results. I had a look at the track and I was ready I could not wait for the day to start.
I went out for practice. It felt so good I beat my lap time and I could not wait for racing to start.
Race 1
The race started and I got a great start I felt so good. I was racing hard and pushing each lap. I made a few mistakes. in the race. I was too fast into some of the corners and this pushed me wide. At one point I found myself leaving the track. I knew I needed to calm down and focus and I finished 8th

Race 2
The race started and before I knew it I found myself hitting a wall of riders. I was in the middle of 4 riders who closed the gap in front and crashed leaving me with nowhere to go and I hit the bike on the floor and went over the bars. This winded me and I needed a minute to get my breath back. I got back on nearly a full lap behind all the other riders but I needed to finish the race. I felt I could keep pushing and I knew if I got into a rhythm I could catch up to the group as the race went on I felt I was going good and I got back to 9th

Race 3.
The final race of the weekend I just wanted to get a great start and have a good race. The gate dropped and off I went I had a good start and found myself with the group I had been in with all weekend I needed to get away. It was a real good battle we where swapping positions throughout the race. I kept pushing I could see the rider in front and I was gaining
on him we were coming in to the final corner and decided to get in late on the breaks and I passed him and crossed the line it felt so good finishing 7th and leaving me with 8th overall for the weekend.

It was so great to be back and I can’t wait for the next one. It’s been a long wait to finally be back racing with friends
