Ronnie secured second overall at Walterstone with SVSSC

This weekend we went to Walterstone with Severn Valley SSC for their Practice race day on Saturday and Sunday was Round 6 of their Club Championship. I haven’t been to Walterstone since my auto days so I wasn’t too sure what to expect.

Saturday the BW85cc and SW85cc were in together for the three moto’s which made for some interesting racing. In a couple of the moto’s I finished 3rd combined, I was happy with that. I enjoyed riding the track and was starting to feel more comfortable on the 85 and feeling confident for Sunday’s racing.

Sunday Race 1, I got out the gate really good but crashed on the first corner and a couple of bikes road into me. I got back on the bike but was dead last, I knew I had to get my head down and make my way through the pack. My speed was there and I dug deep to make my way back to the front of the pack and I crossed the checkered flag in P2.

Race 2, I was determined not to make the same mistake. My reaction time to the gate was on point and I got the holeshot, I had my head in the game. My lap times were consistent and managed to lead the race from start to finish.

Race 3, another holeshot but I had Logan Lewis on my back wheel, we had some good battles. The track was a lot more rough and had some deep ruts from the on and off rain which made things interesting. I ended up finishing the race in second but not far off of P1.

Overall it was a really good weekend and I enjoyed riding Walterstone. I know what I need to work on before my next race. I came way with a podium finish as I got second overall.
