Strong Debut on the 125cc: Aiden Wait Finishes 6th in Tough Monster Mountain Conditions

It was a busy weekend for the NORA CRS Development Team riders last weekend at Monster Mountain with Cotswold Youth & AMX Club. Team rider Aiden Wait who moved up to the 125cc after the 2025 season had a strong start to the 2026 season. Read how Aiden’s weekend went below.

Last weekend I headed to Monster Mountain for Round 1 of the Championship with Cotswolds’ Youth & AMX Motocross Club. Saturday was a practice day and as this weekend was to be my first race back after my injury I wanted to get some extra practice in before race day. The track was really good and I felt ready for Sunday.

My class was to be the first one out on Sunday but due to rain and fog things were delayed for a short time. Things eventually got going. My practice went well and I managed some quick laps, but the track was a lot different to Saturday and was quite slick in places.

Race 1 – Problems with the gates not dropping meant for a flag start, my reaction was good but the back end was just skidding out all over the place which left me last to the first corner. I got to work making my way through the pack making passes wherever possible and by lap 3 I was in the top 10. I managed a few more passes in the next couple of laps and finished the race in 8th.

Race 2 – I had a better start this time and was mid pack around the first corner. I put in some really good laps and got myself to 5th, but during the last lap I let another rider past me and just couldn’t get it back for a 6th place finish. With race 3 cancelled due to a tough track and bad weather conditions I had an overall of 6th for round 1.

I was proud of my achievements for the weekend the track was tough, but I continued to push hard and not give up.

I need to get some more practice on my starts but am pleased with my results for the first round of the Championship.

Thank you to everyone at Cotswolds Motocross Club and Monster Mountain for a great event!
