Successful Weekend for Angelica Bennett with Southerly MXC!

It was finally time to kick off my second championship with southerly mxc this weekend at littlehempston.

I was absolutely buzzing to be going to a brand new track I’d never ridden before and this tack was great proper natural track with lots of off camber corners.

Race 1 – P10 mixed P1 girls
Great start 4th round the corner and I kept the speed up for the whole race! Really enjoyed the race and nice to race against some completely new people!

Race 2 – P15 mixed P2 girls
Stalled it off the start then really struggled to get back through the pack. The track is a lot of flat slate so if you go off the line it super slippery (which I found out too well) I took too long to take riders and it showed in the results. But I came out positive which is the main thing

Race 3 – P16 mixed P2 girls
Didn’t get out of the gate again!! Keep getting in my own head! Then a rider fell in front of me up one of the steep hills! Thankfully Russ came to the rescue but it still took a lap to get the bike up the right way and get going again . I battled my way back up to 16th and was on the tail of 1st in girls but just ran out of time and Olivia ran a blinding race so I couldn’t touch her!

Overall – 13th mixed and 1st girls
A bit gutted with my results to be honest I felt strong and ready but let my head take over! But. I took the overall in the girls championship and that’s the one I’m working towards.

Next up. Dursley at grittenham
