Theo Brown Delivers Standout Performance for 2nd Overall at Landrake

This weekend we headed to Landrake Moto Parc with Southerely MXC. I hadn’t rode the 125cc here yet, so I was looking forward to what this weekend would bring.

Saturday Practice – Practice ended up being quite wet and very deep but I went out 2nd and followed a faster rider who I knew would teach me the way round quite quickly.

Race 1 – I got off to not the best start out of the gate, but after fighting hard round the first corner and a few front runners going down, I came over the line in P3 on lap one. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to hold it, as P4 was right behind me, and it was also the other 125cc Rider, Cam Chapman, who I would not stop battling all weekend. After about 4 laps of back and forth overtaking, and constantly being side by side, I made a couple of silly mistakes, which meant he managed to edge away from me and I ended up finishing in a comfortable P4 and P2 in the 125s.

Race 2 – I got off to a mediocre start, which put me in P5 on lap 1, I pushed all race and wasn’t much slower than Cam in front, but he had a solid 5/10 second gap on me all race. I ended up finishing P5 and P2 in 125s.

Race 3 – My start wasn’t the best, I came around lap 1 in P7, stuck behind two 250s. After a lap and a half I got past them both, being closely followed by Cam. It was starting to become another great battle, but I lost the front going down a small inside roller and unfortunately went down. I dropped back to P7, but managed to make my way back up to finish P6 and P2 in the 125s.

2 laps of practice gave me a good feeling for the track again on Sunday.

Race 4 – I got off to an okay start, crossing the line in P6 after lap one, with cam 5 seconds down the road ahead of me. All race I pushed to catch him, and did with 3 laps to go. We were both pushing so hard, running at the same pace and as fast as P3. I pushed so hard, that whilst trying to line up an overtake I made a silly mistake, which caused me to drop back by a couple seconds on the last lap. We were pushing so hard we ended up only 3 seconds behind P4. I finished P6 and P2 in 125s.

Race 5 – This race didn’t quite go how we wanted it to. I struggled to overtake some slower riders at the beginning of the race, which meant I was in P7. I pushed all race to catch P6 and did, but a lap too late. I ended up P7 and P2 in 125s.

Race 6 – My start was decent in this race, putting me straight into P5 on lap one, just behind cam. Unfortunately I crashed on lap 2, but I managed to hold on to P5 and brought it home to a solid P5 and P2 in the 125s.

I ended up P4 overall, and P2 in the 125s, which I was very happy with in such a fast group.
