Theo Brown Powers to P4 at Brookthorpe

We headed to Brookethorpe this weekend with Severn Valley SSC. It was an eventful day to say the least with a photo finish in moto 1 and a big comeback in race 3.

QUALIFYING – got a good feeling with the track straight away even with the new layout, put one fast lap in which put me P7, and unfortunately didn’t put a second fast lap in because my peak came off due to being roosted by a 250f.

RACE 1 – I had an okay start but managed to put myself inside the top 10 quite quickly. The track had a lot of very deep ruts which I was trying to work out and once I did I pulled myself through to p6 as I began the last lap. I could see P5 not too far ahead, so I dug deep and pushed all I could. By the time we made it to the last straight I was about 2 bike lengths behind. I saw the rider in front go out wide so I divebombed down the inside and managed to take P5. (slight contact may have been made)

RACE 2 – Race 2 went very similarly to race 1, I found myself in P6 mid race battling hard with another rider. we battled until the end but unfortunately he got the better of me and I ended up P7. My lap times were consistently as good as the few places in front so I knew I had more to give in the final race.

RACE 3 – Race 3 kicked off with a poor start but I knew instantly that I had too move forward as quickly as possible. Considering I was dead last off the gate, coming round in P8 on lap one felt pretty good. I knew I had more to give though, so I carried on pushing until eventually making it up to P5, whilst lapping second fastest on the track for the last few laps, and P4 just a few seconds in front of me on track.

I took P4 overall, which I was very happy with and was the first 125cc. So overall a very solid weekend and now we move on to Landrake this weekend with Southerely MXC.
